Four time Grammy Award winning producer and ‘Godfather of Disco’ embarks on first ever live tour
Iconic music producer Giorgio Moroder has today announced news of his first ever live tour. The hitmaker will take to the road with his The Celebration of the 80s show that will come to the UK for four nights, including a night at the Tickets for the shows go on sale at 9am on Fri 12 Oct.
Giorgio Moroder first gained recognition in the 70s with both his own music and his productions for Donna Summer (‘I Feel Love’, ‘On the Radio’ and ‘Love to Love You Baby’, ‘Hot Stuff’ among others). This led to a string of other collaborations with huge artists including Cher, Blondie, David Bowie, Debbie Harry, Freddie Mercury, Bonnie Tyler and many more. Moroder’s enormous contribution to pop has been recognised with no less than four Grammy Awards.
As well as working the biggest names of the 70s and 80s Moroder composed and produced soundtracks for numerous 80s cult films with tracks ‘Take My Breath Away’ (Top Gun) and ‘What a Feeling’ (Flashdance) earning him three Academy Awards and four Golden Globes. Other soundtrack credits include American Gigolo, Cat People, Scarface, Electric Dreams, The Never Ending Story, Top Gun, and Midnight Express.
For the 2019 The Celebration of the 80s tour Moroder will perform the highlights from his prolific career. Spectacular visuals and stage lighting will accompany the music which will be performed by the producers, his band and guest vocalists.
